The 6 Essential Steps To A Great Lightwater Valley Holiday
Step 1: Make a booking online
Planning your journey in advance and booking on the Lightwater Valley guarantees an entry fee of only £20.00 per person – compared to the on-the-day price of £30.00, this is an impressive saving! Either it’s one-third taken off the day price or the day price is 50% more expensive: whichever way you look at it, it’s a great idea to book online. However, it’s important to remember that if you’re planning on this deal, it closes at midnight the previous night, so if you leave it too late you won’t be able to take full advantage of it!
Step 2: Make sure to arrive in plenty of time
Lightwater Valley rides, shops and attractions all open at 10.00am, but you’re free to enter the park from 9.40am, giving you a great opportunity to get in ahead of the crowd, find the best spot and get ready for the park opening ahead of time. The car park is free for customers to use, with specialist parking spots for coaches and disabled parking close to the park gates to make sure you can get in easily, no matter your circumstances. The fairground rides are open from 10.00am, with most of the shows, displays and attractions open by 10.30am, so make sure you’re in position with the little ones by then!
If you’re unfamiliar with the park, the 20 minutes before it opens fully is a great time to spend a few minutes checking our provided maps and making sure you know where you’re going.
Step 3: Essential Ride Experiences
The rides, attractions and experiences are divided up evenly into three categories based on the age and height of the guests that will be using them. The Mini Adventure rides are geared towards ages 1-5, while the Mega Adventure rides are aimed at ages 5-9. Lastly, the Ultimate Adventure deals with children of 9 and over, up to adults over 1.2m in height, and each ride is thematically tailored for the group in question. To make sure you have the best day possible, make sure to check the categories ahead of time and make sure you note the height restrictions on each ride since they may change from ride to ride.
Step 4: Lunch
The park features dozens of great spots to grab lunch, so you can make the most of your day. Making, packing, unpacking, eating, cleaning up and dealing with the rubbish caused by a picnic can take a big slice out of your day, so dodge it completely! The foods on offer at the park include traditional fairground goodies like candyfloss and fresh-baked doughnuts, all the way through to light bites to eat on the go and full meals in our park restaurants and cafes. Whatever you’re after, Lightwater Valley has the meal and drink that will satisfy. Lightwater Valley also makes every effort to source its food and drink locally, and from organic and pesticide-free farmers, to minimise the park’s impact on the environment.
Step 5: Legendary Lightwater Valley Falconry
After lunch, you can relax and let your meal go down while taking in a spectacular falconry show at the Lightwater Valley Falconry Centre. The Birds of Prey shows feature a wide range of impressive species and displays of aerial acrobatics and grace, with the expert Lightwater Valley falconers handling their powerful birds with ease and confidence. These shows are held every day at the on-site Falconry Centre, during theme park opening dates. For more information on the shows, make sure to call the park Head Office during opening hours on their dedicated customer care line, 08442482655.
Step 6: Heading home after a great day
The Lightwater Valley park closing time varies day-by-day depending on how busy the park is, and how much the weather cooperates, but will fall between 4.30pm at the earliest and 6.00pm at the latest. The exact closing time for each day will be posted each morning on the entry kiosk, so when you go in you’ll know when the park will be closing and can plan your day around that information. If you need more information, you can get in touch with the Lightwater Valley staff on 08442482655 or by using the official email address found on their official website. Once you’ve gotten in touch, you’ll be able to get a more precise idea of the next day’s closing times – but bear in mind, these are still going to be estimates and unexpectedly terrible weather or a quiet park may still result in an earlier closing time.
