If you aren’t too bothered about where you sit, you can check in online and choose a seat for free 24 hours before the flight is due to depart.
Monarch Baggage Allowance
Baggage placed in the hold can weigh up to 20kg, with up to 2 bags per person, subject to a fee. For hand luggage, it must be no bigger than 56 x 40 x 25cm and weigh no more than 10kg. You can split this between two bags if you wish. You are also allowed one carrier bag from duty-free at the airport.

Monarch Airlines was founded in 1967 with operations commencing in 1968 with a flight from London to Madrid. By 1969, with a fleet of six aircraft, the airline carried over 250,000 passengers in 12 months. By 1972, this number increased to 500,000 passengers. By 1988, the figure had reached an astonishing two million.
Nowadays, Monarch carries around 5.7 million passengers (2015), but this amount is less than 2014. Back in 2010, the airline was ranked 58th in the Sunday Times Top Track 100 in terms of sales. Monarch is also the oldest airline in the UK to not have changed its name. The headquarters for the airline can be found in Luton and the company has around 3,000 employees across cabin crew, airport staff and office support.
