About National Express

National Express is a UK coach travel provider and is headquartered in Birmingham. It mainly operates coaches but also trains and buses throughout the UK, the United States, Malta, Portugal, Morocco, Germany and the US. The National Express brand was first established in 1974 as a need for a scheduled coach service in the UK was recognised. In November 2007, National Express underwent an image overhaul that contributed to their expansion and instead of operating out of London, they moved their head office to Birmingham.

National Express UK

National Express are a great way of getting around on a budget. Their booking system is simple and all of their tickets can be booked via their website. When visiting the website you will be asked where you would like to travel to and from where you would like to depart. You can even select a time that is suited to you. Once you have searched for your coach, National Express will then give you all of the available journeys. You can search for earlier and later trains for journeys that suit you. If you are having problems finding a journey that suits you or using the website in general, you can call the contact number for assistance. When booking, you can select to book a single/return or open return and you will need to create an account with National Express to complete the booking process. If you are having problems locating a particular National Express stop, you can use their ‘find my stop’ option which brings up a map of all of the National Express stations in the UK.national express coach

National Express Tickets

Once your booking is complete, you receive booking confirmation in the form of an email from National Express. You will also receive your e-ticket which will need to be printed and shown to your driver upon boarding the coach. The driver will scan the bar code featured on the ticket and will also check the reference number against the one they will have. If you have a smartphone you will not need to print the ticket, you can show a screenshot of it to the driver from your phone instead. If you print your ticket and lose it, you do have the option to reprint your ticket by visiting the ticket reprint section of the website. You will need to enter your ticket number and the last four digits from your payment card, to be sent a new, printable version of your ticket. National Express Coach Tracker

This is a handy tool that shows you the live location of all National Express coaches, so you can track exactly where your coach is before you get on it. This is especially useful for things like delays. The Coach Tracker is online and to use it, you simply enter the coach number or name of the stop that you are travelling from into the search box. If you prefer, you can search from departure and arrival locations and press find service. If your service is severely delayed and you would like to make a complaint, please call the contact number.

National Express Coach Card

National Express offer a range of Coachcards that provide discount on all of their fares. Different Coachcards are available depending on your situation and these include, a student and young person Coachcard, a senior Coachcard, a family Coachcard and a disabled Coachcard. Each of the cards offer different benefits and many allow you to save up to 1/3 on standard fares. The family Coachcard also allows for free child travel. National Express Discount Code

If you have a promo code, you can use it easily when booking your National Express fare, simply by entering it in the box provided. The discount from the code will then be applied to the overall cost of your journey. Promo codes usually arrive on the National Express website during seasonal offers. If you don’t have a promo code but are looking to save some money on your booking, you can check out the National Express offers page where you may be able to find a cheap journey at a time and a place that suits you. Offers include the National Express low fare finder where you can enter your destination and the lowest fares will appear. In order to pay the lowest fare, you must be available to travel at any time.

How do I cancel my National Express Ticket?

If you can’t make the journey you have booked with National Express, you can try and change the date and time of your ticket by logging into your National Express account and seeing if you can amend your ticket. Please note that there are usually amendment charges in place when changing a ticket. If you no longer wish to travel it is worth reading the terms and conditions of your ticket as some fares are non-refundable, whereas with some you may be entitled to your money back.
